I have gone back and forth on how to phrase this entry, because its weirdness level is so high that I have difficulty expressing it. Should I spare no detail? Ought I even bother to form sentences? {March 17, 2012}   The Rewards of Loitering

I am slowly attempting to get to know the hot spots in LA and acquaint myself with the hidden gems in the second largest city in America. As I moved to LA for work, I have spent the majority of my time completely immersed in my job and I haven’t set much time aside to explore Los Angeles.

But my soul NEEDS to seek out and explore my new city, so I am trying to make more time to find the spots that make Los Angeles, well, Los Angeles. Read the rest of this entry »



Living in a new place that is rather foreign to me is bringing out my unabashed risk-taking side. It’s fun…mostly. It also leaves me with the distinct impression that I may just end up having to change my phone number and/or name. Either way, it spices up my day.

Thursday kind of felt like it sucked. It was a long, exhausting day and I was vacillating in my life’s current choices. I was alone in LA, tired, cranky, sore, antsy and hungry (just to name a few). I went to McDonalds to ease my troubled mind and while I was eating I saw a guy who looked near my age and a young boy who I assumed was his son bow their heads and pray over their meal. It kind of made my heart soar. I’m all alone in this new city and to see them pray made me feel connected. So I determined to go up to them and say something. Read the rest of this entry »
